FOREWORD

POEMS WRITTEN SOON AFTER THE ATTACKS

God Bless America
The Part I Have Chosen to Play
I've Been Utterly Sick to My Stomach
They Jumped as We Watched on T.V.
My First Thought, to Hug Both My Kids
As the Numbers Begin to Come In
Not a Plane Was Allowed in the Sky
Our Government Has Asked Us to Pray
Someone Ran With an Evil Idea
They Have Only Made Us Stronger
Right Out of a Disaster Movie
Their Anguish, We Are Sharing
The Biggest Coward of Them All
We Have Got a Good Man as Our Leader
And It Just Keeps Getting Worse
Hail to the Broad Band of Heroes
Hope Others Don't Follow Their Lead
They Used Our Own Airplanes Against Us
All of These Questions to Answer
The Mess That We've Now to Clean Up
Dear God, Please Hear Our Prayer

NEW POEMS ADDED 9/26 THRU 9/30/2001

What So Proudly We Hailed
The Buildings Fell Right From the Sky
What Happened to All the Other News
A Jewel(iani) of a Mayor
What Will Those Cowards Do Next
Is This Only the Beginning?

LATER ADDITIONS

The Day the World, Forever, Was Changed
The Heroics of Flight #93
Let's Not Forget the Anthrax Scare
The Pentagon Took a Good Hit
Where Will We Go Next
A Faceless, Evil Coward
The Land of the Free
The Right Man For the Job
