They Jumped as We Watched on T.V.

Couldn't bear what it was I was seeing.
The Towers on fire and all.
The people who waved from the windows.
Them jumping, and watching them fall.

From what I had heard there were many.
Who chose how they'd meet their sad fate.
They would have been lost in the fire.
Had chosen, instead, not to wait.

To their deaths, they had known they were going.
The choice was a quick way to go.
The fear, I am sure they were knowing,
Is a fear I hope I never know.

I pray for their souls and their families.
That God had a reason that day.
For taking his children that morning.
In that terrible, memorable way.
