DEALING WITH ADDICTION
To Those Who Are Somehow Affected

We Are All Somehow Affected

Not everyone's an addict.
Some can use and keep control.
I know a lot of users
who have never lost their soul.

There's those who go out now and then,
And have a drink or two.
Aware that they are driving,
who have better things to do.

Some even smoke the evil weed.
But rarely! On occasion!
They've, maybe, done a couple lines,
not impressed by its persuasion.

I'm not condemning anyone.
Please, let me make that clear.
I'm reaching to the addict
who has made drugs their career.

I'm speaking of the drunkard
who don't know it's time to quit.
To those who're in it deeply
and to those who've just been bit.

I ask you, please be honest,
self-evaluating you!
Look closely at your habits.
Are they causing harm to you?

Are you hiding things from others?
Are you honest 'bout your using?
Does it cause you to be negligent?
Dishonest or abusing?

Just because you are successful,
don't believe that you're restricted.
Ask yourself if you could quit.
In not, then you're addicted.

Addiction comes in many forms.
Most people have no clue.
The truth! We most know someone,
it is doing some harm to.
