DEALING WITH ADDICTION |
For Twenty-five years I did drugs and drank booze.
I paid lots of mental and physical dues.
What I have learned from the dues that I'd paid,
were all the of the stupid mistakes that I'd made.
I also have learned that it's not only me.
I've seen what a problem it's coming to be.
There's so many people, I know, who're afflicted.
So many others who're, likewise, addicted.
The problem is growing - it's out of control.
A vast epidemic that's taking its toll.
Our world is becoming addictingly sick.
We have to do something and do it real quick.
It's tearing up fam'lies wherever you look.
Therefore the reason I'm writing this book.
I hope that I might open up a few eyes.
Perhaps touch some addict 'fore he or she dies.
My goal, to inform, all the things that it cost.
To offer some comfort and hope to the lost.
To shine some small light for those needing informing.
To touch a few hearts that could use a good warming.
To share, what it took me a lifetime to learn.
To offer my wisdom, my love and concern.
To offer some insight, when choosing between,
living life dirty or living life clean.
