Lord, after giving it good, long, hard thought,
I feel it is time that this battle be fought.
This foe in my life, who’s so shameful and polished,
Must, now, be defeated. Completely abolished.
This evil I’m facing — deliver me now.
You’ve shown me the “why”; please now, show me the “how.”
Give me the strength I will need on this quest,
In putting this evil addiction to rest.
Bring back the me, I once knew as a child,
Before my addiction broke free and ran wild.
Calm this aggression that’s after my soul.
Give me back, Lord, all the things it has stole.
Put good in the blood that once ran clean and pure.
Don’t let it take me, God. Give me your cure.
Pull me in close, Lord. Hold on to me tight.
See I’m triumphant in winning this fight.
Deliver me now. Take my cravings away.
Fill them with cravings for you, God, today.
Replace my bad habits with good ones, anew.
From evil, deliver me! Please, Father, do!
