Dear God, it overwhelms me,
when I think of what's ahead.
The thought I cannot use again
has filled my mind with dread.
I don't think I can make it
when I glimpse the total climb.
Help keep my mission simple.
Take me one day at a time.
One day at a time, Dear God.
That's something I can do.
I'll put a bunch together, God.
Someday I'll work on Two.
Guide me, Father, daily.
Let me never go astray.
Thank you, that you love me,
that you never go away.
For this day I will stay sober;
I'll accomplish something good.
I'll live my life and do your will,
The way I know I should.
I'll do good deeds and share kind words;
I'll make a difference Lord,
As day by day, I reach the goal
You have me heading toward.
