Our Government Has Asked Us to Pray

Thru this crisis, we all are involved in.
To help us each painstaking day.
Our Government asked us be silent.
And they asked us, each one, please, to pray.

The prayer that they took from our schoolrooms.
They ask us to do it, right now.
To pray for the families affected.
I hope that we ain't forgot how.

With everyone out there, all praying.
God's help, as a nation invited.
It somehow has brung us together.
As a country, we are truly united.

I'm glad that our prayers are requested.
It seems only proper to do.
It is prayer that will help us stay strong now.
It will help us to see this thing thru.

Once all the dust has been settled.
The lives, counted up, that were lost.
Once all of the price has been tallied.
Once we realize how much this has cost.

I hope we'll continue our praying,
the way God had commanded and planned.
As a nation, it will keep us United.
And, remember,
"United We Stand".
