Not since the Wright brothers proved they could fly.
Did you see fewer planes when you looked to the sky.
All planes had been grounded. Diverted! Sent back.
Security reasons! Fear of attack!

"This never has happened." That's what we were told.
More people than all of the airports could hold.
Flying the skies came, abrupt, to a halt.
Terrorist hijackings, surely at fault.

The skies, once so friendly, brought Chaos, this day.
We won't look at flying, again, the same way.
The threat has become real. The alert has been sounded.
Recalling the day that the planes were all grounded.
