A Day of Shock and Awe

I watched it live on my T.V.
Like nothing I did ever see.
Baghdad seeing bomb after bomb.
Because of one man by the name of Saddam.

The blasting extensive!  Consistent!  Non stop!
No counting the thousands of bombs we will drop.
We’re making the point that we vowed would be made.
Due to one tyrant—this price being paid.

Isn’t it clear that his reign is at end?
Can’t he receive this loud message we send?
What does he think he could, somehow, achieve?
What is this ace that he has up his sleeve?

Saddam and his leaders deserve to be scorned.
They knew this was coming.  Can’t say they weren’t warned.
What did they think—we were stating a bluff.
When will they realize—enough is enough?
