Goodness is My Goal

I have had some poor behaviors.
Looking back upon my past.
I’m putting those behind me.
And I’m making those my last.

I’m going to thrive on goodness.
And engrave it in my soul.
To grow up good and righteous,
Is my wish and is my goal.

To make my parents proud of me.
I know their job is tough.
I owe it to be good to them.
I hope that it’s enough.

If goodness is my thinking.
If I give it all I could.
I know that I will grow up right.
That I will turn out good.

Cause if I don’t do good things,
Then the things I do are bad.
I know how much that hurts my mom
And troubles my poor dad.
