It Starts by Setting Goals
When I grow up, I’m going to be,
whatever I desire.
The goal is only ten percent,
The rest is all perspire.
My daddy taught me long ago,
To set realistic goals.
To stay away from stumbling,
Or falling into holes.
“Persistence is the key”, he said,
to reach the goals I’ve set.
As far as what I’m going to be,
I ain’t decided yet.
So long as I am happy,
As these goals I go pursue.
I know I’ll be successful then,
Regardless what I do.
My goals, like me are little.
As I grow, they, likewise, will.
I’m learning where my strengths are at.
Developing my skill.
I’m checking out my options,
Till I’m certain where to go.
Setting goals and reaching them,
Until I surely know.
The purpose God has sent me for.
The plan that he unfolds.
To set my goals around those plans.
To play the cards he holds.
Success is not arriving,
at some certain place someday.
Success is, more, enjoying,
every step along the way.
