WHAT I KNOW ABOUT RAISING MY KIDS

My Manners I Will Mind

I know there’s a difference,
between wrong and right.
Between being rude,
and being polite.

Good manners are something,
to which I’ll commit.
It’s wrong to call names,
to poke fun at or spit.

I say please and thank you.
Hello and Good-bye!
I promise, no more,
will I cheat or I lie.

Those sorry behaviors,
I’m leaving behind.
From this day, my manners,
I swear I will mind.

I’m going to treat all
of the people that meet me.
The way that, I know,
I would like them to treat me.

Even if they are rude,
I won’t stoop to their level.
I realize it’s just,
an attack from the devil.

All the more reason,
to back from a fight.
I won’t give the devil
an ounce of delight.

I act, now, the way
that I promised I would.
By doing my best,
to grow up to be good.
