Take a Look Around You

Star Auto Parts is orgainzed,
like no place I have ever seen
The place is most impressive,
not to mention  very, very clean.

I still recall the words he said.
How high this man had chose to rate us.
The guy that came to talk to us,
that Star had paid to motivate us.

I know we all contributed,
how Star had fully come to be.
Yet much of what he complimented,
pointed straight and mostly me.

I knew just how our dad would want it.
What is was that he had dreamed.
I did the best job that I could,
with hopes, one day, I’d be redeemed.

I pounded, sawed and painted
all the detailed projects I’d designed.
To make this place, Star Auto Parts,
the very sharpest of its kind.

I tore down old racks.  Put up new ones.
Driven by my father’s dream.
To someday be respected as
a player of my father’s team.

The bankers and the lawyers,
all the bigshots that you give your tour.
All give to you the praise and credit.
That, which my labor did endure.

The next time you are showing Star,
I think, to do, you really should.
Give credit to your little brother.
Who did that work that looks so good.
