You lived that I might learn your ways.
Full of love and God sent praise.
Free of sin and selfishness.
You stood for God and righteousness.
Suffered grim indignities.
Brutal pain! Humilities!
Hung and died upon the cross.
Sad my gain would be your loss.
How can I repay you, Lord?
Nothing equals your reward.
Help me make myself anew,
to somehow make it up to you.
To give my life as you gave yours.
Obedient to all your chores.
To spread your word and likewise live it.
Just as you, my all, to give it.
Father, I will need your power.
Stand beside me every hour.
After all you’ve done for me.
You gave your only son for me.
Use me as your instrument.
Your holy ways to implement.
