SPIRITUAL FOOD FOR THOUGHT

It’s All About Outreach

As a Christian, I feel, what’s expected of me.
Is to follow, Christ Jesus.  To act just like he.
As he reached to us, Christian sisters and brothers.
Is it not our duty, to reach out to others.

So many lost souls who just don’t understand.
This man they call Jesus.  The life he had planned.
Who struggle thru life with no hope of their own.
Hungry and hurting and feeling alone.

In need of a friend, with the Gospel, to teach.
In need of a hand that they’re welcome to reach.
In need of a smile.  A word that is kind.
A push towards that goal they are seeking to find.

Think back of the person that reached out to you.
Who showed you this Christ, that before, you’d not knew.
Think of the difference, in your life, they had made.
Jesus called them to witness.  They heard and obeyed.

There’s so many chances to spread Jesus word.
So many who need it, who just haven’t heard.
Time to be bold and to take a firm stance.
To witness each time that we’re given the chance.

To reach to the lost, who might die if we don’t.
The difference is rather you will or you won’t.
It’s something, I pray, that does not give you shame.
You need to be proud when proclaiming Christ’s name.

It’s all about outreach!  We all need to learn,
unconditional love and a heart of concern!
A servant to others!  A life that is giving!
That is the life Christ would have you be living.

So starting today, take a chance!  Spread his word!
Take note of what happens and how it occurred.
Don’t get discouraged, when folks don’t respond.
It might take a while, before you will bond.

When life has run out and it’s all said and done.
You might have touched millions, by touching just one.
By showing the world that, like Christ, you do care.
Think of the fruit that you, boldly, might bear.

Spreading the Gospel.  God gave his command.
Time to start caring and reaching a hand.
We all make a difference, if only we’ll try.
To those that know life and to those that will die.

The difference is you and the effort you make.
The depth of your faith and the chances you take.
I hope it’s apparent!  What’s expected of you!
Reach out to your brothers, as Jesus would do!
