Daddy has been here in flesh and in person,
but that's all dear dad left behind.
There's part of your daddy that's missing these days,
and that's daddy in spirit and mind.
Daddy is struggling to find his way home, kids.
Daddy is honestly trying.
It's just that he, maybe, has wandered too far.
There's part of your daddy that's dying.
Daddy is sorry for drifting so far;
That wasn't your daddy's intention.
Daddy is dealing with horrible demons,
Too horrible for daddy to mention.
But daddy knows what is important to him,
And daddy will win this tough battle.
Daddy's been knocked off his horse times before,
yet still makes it back in his saddle.
Daddy loves both of his dear lovely children.
He helped me in writing this poem.
Daddy has sent you a message, sincerely:
Your daddy is on his way home.
