DEALING WITH ADDICTION |
When I was a young and foolish man,
I caused myself so much harm.
I went to the Doctor quite recently.
His report on my health, brought alarm.
Been feeling lousy, this last, long year.
Searched 'til I found the connection.
I contracted a virus, I suspect, long ago.
It now is a full blown infection.
Hadn't the slightest idea, what I'd done,
The ill I'd inflicted on me.
They tell me "it's lethal", this virus I have.
I guess I will wait and will see.
Just when it seemed, all was going good,
Then comes this discouraging news.
I made the mistake, prob'ly twenty years back;
Only now, am I paying the dues.
So now I am fighting, what could be a long battle.
Would you say a nice prayer for me, please?
Pray I am cured in some miracle way,
That I win my fight with this disease.
