A Problem That Needs To Be Dealt With

You (Yes You) Can Make a Big Difference

The problem with this country, with its problems, unresolved,
Is people, way too many, plain refuse to get involved.
They do most of the complaining, never taking any action.
As opposed to contribution, they're more guilty of distraction.

It seems that, way too often, the majority that's done
Is always by just a few. Sometimes by only one.
We need to stand united if we're going to win this war.
Stop using the excuses that you've used so much before.

Like, I'm only one small person. There's no difference I can make.
The ones who are so slow to give, but yet so quick to take.
It's attitudes like that which make the problems amplified.
Giving up and losing hope before they've even tried.

I'm sorry if I bothered you by pointing out these flaws.
If so, why don't you make a change and join me in my cause?
Regardless where you stand on this, the problem does remain.
Why don't find some way to help? If not, then don't complain.

Big deal if someone else should die, or end up going to jail.
One thing you'll have going for you: at least you didn't fail.
So what if some kid's daddy overdosed on drugs and died.
That friend of yours, you might have helped, if only you had tried.

If you are one condemning, criticizing all you see,
Complaining all the time about the way life's come to be,
Why don't you make a difference? You can start by changing you.
You just might save some person through some thoughtful act you do.
