Take a Look at Who Your Friends Are

Here's a real tough issue,
Where you have to face some facts,
Of friends who you hang out with,
If they're real or if they're acts.

Ask yourself this question,
And be honest in replying:
Which ones will be your buddy,
Just so long as you are buying?

What do you have in common,
With exception of your using?
Are they loyal in their friendship
or obnoxious and abusing?

One thing about addiction,
I have noticed often true.
Try quitting all your using.
See which ones still visit you.

See which ones encourage you
To stand your sober ground.
They're the only honest friends
Of all that you have found.

The ones that keep on tempting you,
Are not your friends at all.
Tell them not to come around,
And tell them not to call.

A good friend is supportive.
Even joins you in your quitting.
Who understands and helps you
With the problem you're admitting.

Be careful who you hang with.
If they make you mad or frown,
Avoid that kind of people;
They will only bring you down.
