DEALING WITH ADDICTION |
This topic of addiction
is in need of our attention.
The schools, the church, the workplace.
Here's a topic needing mention.
The problem is a real one,
epidemic in its stage.
It's time we come together
in this war we've chose to wage.
The victims are our children,
Our parents and our old.
Most having using stories
they felt better left untold.
Lives are shattered everywhere.
Youth is robbed and lost.
Our world must come together
or continue pay the cost.
This war won't be an easy one;
So much to be resolved.
There's those who do the most they can;
There's those won't get involved.
The only way that we will win,
defeating drugs one day,
Is everyone doing some small part
and helping in some way.
We first need education;
We have turned our backs too long.
We then must see the dire need
to, somehow, right this wrong.
We need to talk about it,
Try to gain some understanding.
And then to take the action
God will, surely, be commanding...
Before we lose our neighbor,
our good friend or precious son.
Before we're filled with deep regret
for what we haven't done.
Let's try to play some simple part
in cleaning up this mess.
Addiction is an issue
that is vital we address.
