DEALING WITH ADDICTION |
What I hate about addiction
Is the families it has cost.
The mothers and the fathers,
That their children sadly lost.
Caught up in their addictions,
Not aware of what they're doin'.
Their children's lives get tossed about,
and brought to utter ruin.
They're scarred in their emotions.
On the street they learn life's lessons,
In envy of the friends they have,
Who have their parents' blessin's.
So much of this is happening;
So many are affected.
So many helpless children
being totally neglected.
They're exposed to all the bullcrap,
all the dealers and the using.
The parents blind, completely,
to the kids they are abusing.
Their homes are those of poverty,
not knowing love or hugs.
What little money comes to them
is spent on drinks or drugs.
The children lack security;
Instead they live with lies,
Wanting just a normal life,
While no-one hears their cries.
Mom or dad may be in prison.
Kids abandoned every day.
They shouldn't have to live like that;
God planned a better way.
A lot will go to foster homes,
the lucky ones, at least.
While others parents overdose,
and often are deceased.
It's such a major issue,
One I felt, must be addressed.
I pray for all these children,
That their precious lives be blessed.
That their parents find their senses,
And return to them, like new,
To do the job assigned to them,
God planned for them to do.
