My name is Mr. Kun Sop Jun and my Tae Kwon Do rank is 6th degree black belt. I studied Tae Kwon Do art in Korea and began teaching in the United States and performing in Madison Square Garden. I opened a Tae Kwon Do school in Rockford, Illinois and Janesville, Wisconsin in late 1960.
Mr. Steve Ackerman was my most devoted and promising student that I taught. He had such a deep passion for the art. He studied diligently and never missed classes. As a young boy he was articulate, fast and powerful and as I taught him to be articulate, you too can expect the same type of old school training that I had passed on to him.
I have heard the details of Steve's program and he truly has taken the shortcomings of traditional teaching out of his New Concept Tae Kwon Do program and found a way to accelerate the learning process and improve on the was traditional schools teach.
I have known Mr. Ackerman many years and if he says he can deliver on his promises, I believe that he can. He is devoted and has much good knowledge and technique to pass on to those who partake in his program.
I highly recommend him as an instructor and would be willing to vouch for him anytime. He has earned my respect as both a student and teacher. I am not one whose respect is easily earned in both of these areas of Tae Kwon Do but Mr. Ackerman was an exception and his devotion to the art is true to this day. He has a passion for teaching and he will bring out the best in you like no one else can.
I can assure you that you will not be disappointed in the program that Mr. Ackerman has to offer. My best wishes go out to him and to those of you who partake in his New Concept Tae Kwon Do Karate Program.
My most Sincerely,
Kun Sop Jun
P.S. You are recommended by our Tae Kwon Do Association that as of this Date 2006, January 14, 4th degree Black Belt.
When Steve Ackerman first presented me with his unique martial art training concept that squarely placed the responsibility for learning and advancing in Tae Kwon Do on the students themselves, I was very impressed. Because I know as a black belt instructor that the only students, who really learn, understand and improve are those who accept their responsibility for their own training. This is not to say that instructors are not necessary, we all need teachers to guide and direct us; to encourage and motivate us; to stand in objective judgment of our progress and abilities. Steve's program does all of this and more. It promises personal and individual attention. It eventually mandates students to help and instruct others (this is the real path to learning and improvement). And it offers, for the students who desire it, an opportunity to someday open and instruct in their own school.
In teaching the martial arts, Steve Ackerman is both an innovator and a traditionalist. He has found a way to teach the strictest standards of Tae Kwon Do using modern technologies and methods. For students who are willing to accept their responsibility for their own improvement, I can, without any reservations, recommend Steve's program.

When it comes to Tae Kwon-Do & Serious martial arts training Steve Ackerman is Tough as Nails and Solid as a Rock. Steve's kicks are Precise & Sharp, VERY VERY FAST & POWERFUL! Clean, Accurate and Technically Flawless!
In the time I spent in the ring with Steve, all I saw were Feet in my Face!!! I've sparred with many other Black Belts in my training days & Steve Ackerman connects at will!
Mentally and Physically, Steve (in my opinion) is as sharp as a tack and is Qualified to Instruct at a high level. If an individual is prepared to diligently dedicate their time and efforts in the Korean Martial Art of Tae Kwon Do they would be wise to choose Steve Ackerman's "New Concept Karate" program to learn to their fullest potential.
